Gaelic poetry and editorial methodology

Tomás Ó Braonáin

Literature Programme Editor

I work with poets and translators to shape Gaelic literary projects, and I believe the process should be as visible as the result. My approach starts with conversation: what does the poet want to keep, what can a translation afford to lose, and how do we hold both languages in honest tension? I write here to share that methodology warmly, so others can adapt it to their own commissions and collaborations.
